After the excesses of Christmas we all hope to shake it off in the New Year.

Don’t let painful feet derail your good intentions, you need to make sure you’re fit enough to get fit. Your feet are your foundations, if your feet aren’t functioning properly then the rest of you will be out of balance.

In a recent study, researchers found that for every 1 kg in weight loss, the peak knee load was reduced by 2.2 kg. Exercise doesn’t have to be strenuous, simply walking for 30 minutes every day has proven to reduce blood pressure, reduce blood sugar, reduce cholesterol and reduce weight. Helping you get a flying start into the new year and beyond.

Here at Torbay Footcare we treat and advise on all types of foot pain from heel to toe.

To book an appointment call us on 01803 521880

Sort out your foot pain today and get exercising.

It’s that time of year again when we are busy getting ready for Christmas, decorating the house, buying food and presents, partying and catching up with friends and family. If your feet are complaining about all of that extra work see if you can get a last minute appointment, we will be open until lunchtime on Saturday 23rd December and after the break the practice will re-open on Tuesday 2nd January .

Stuck for present ideas? We sell Gift Vouchers, they can be bought in any denomination, speak to one of the team.

We are constantly striving to improve our service to you, this year we started using a web based appointments system, an online booking facility will be activated very soon enabling you to book your next appointment at your convenience. Don’t worry though our reception team will always be available to speak to you during normal surgery hours.

Also new this year is our 3D Scanner for taking images of the foot for the manufacture of custom insoles or orthotics which can be made to correct for your foot problem. Custom made insoles are much slimmer and more durable than the ready-made ones and are amazingly comfortable, they can be made to go in most shoe types and even some sandals, the manufacturer Edser also manufacture orthotic flipflops to make sure you keep comfortable even on your holidays!

Its spring and the memory of winter is fading fast, gardens are blooming, birds are swooping in the under-croft and thoughts turn to happy summer days toasting yourself in summer sunshine, walking on the beach and relaxing by the pool in the upcoming summer months ... so now is a great time to make sure your feet are 'summer ready' and in tip-top condition before the summer fun begins.

Step through the summer ready checklist to maximise your upcoming summertime plans ...

1. any pre-existing foot related conditions, that you may have, are under control?
2. there are no new symptoms or areas of concern related to your feet?
3. you are able to comfortably enjoy the walking and standing you do, or would like to do, in a normal day?
4. all of your footwear is comfortable and functions well ...

If you can answer 'YES' to each item on the checklist then your feet are truly 'summer ready' and you are ready to enjoy your summer plans.

Don't worry if you answered 'NO' to any of the above because a call to Torbay Footcare on 01803 521880 to book an appointment with one of our podiatrists will put you on the right road to summer fun.

Anyone can make one:
For better or worse, anyone can write a blog post about anything they want. Everyone has a voice and the best voices will rise to the top.

The writer can show their personality:
In blog posts, the writer has more leeway to add in their voice and personality than other types of writing.

Blogs are a great form of mass communication:
You can help people, learn new things, entertain your audience—the possibilities are endless and amazing. Blogging opens up all of these to a very wide audience.

You can make money:

Get the right blog going and you can make a lot of money through advertising and sponsored posts.

It allows people to craft better thoughts:
Instead of reading haphazard, uneducated Facebook statuses, it’s much better to see people’s thought process in a well-written blog post.

You can establish a community:
Blogging allows you to connect with other individuals who share the same interests. Sharing ideas and opinions within your community helps establish yourself as a thought leader.

Good for SEO:
Keeping content on your site fresh and relevant, you can use your blog to boost the search engine ranking (SEO) of your site and your business.

It brings people back to your site:

If your blog is strong enough and updated regularly, people will come back looking for more and bring traffic back to your site as well.

It’s free:
It costs you a grand total of zero dollars to post to the blog, so if you have something to say, there’s nothing to stop you.

You can establish yourself as a thought leader:

A blog is a great place for your original thoughts, and it can be a wonderful way to show off your individuality. If people like your ideas, you can become a thought leader in your industry!
